Usually, we celebrate Deepavali festival at our native altogether every year as an occasion for all of us to get together. But, as one of our close relatives is ailing with a serious health problem at present, we decided not to celebrate this year. We stayed back at kalpetta. I prepared sweets and offered to all our neighbours. There is an old couple living little away from our house on Onivayal Road itself. Whenever we go on that road to VSet, the elderly man used to repond to my ‘Nmasthe” getting up with a broad smile. This time, I carried sweets to their house and spent some time with them chatting, though I don’t know their language. They looked extremely happy at the gesture. I was equally happy to have made them joyful. As Swami says “ For the Heart To Heart communication, language is not at all a barrier”
